Learning Power BI Together with Tarsoft

We recently hosted an exciting Power BI Training session with an energetic group of participants, guided by our dedicated moderators from Tarsoft Sdn Bhd.

Throughout the session, participants explored how Power BI can turn raw data into meaningful insights using clear visuals, interactive dashboards, and easy-to-read reports.

Our main goal was to build data confidence while keeping the learning experience fun, hands-on, and approachable for everyone.

What We Learned

The training focused on guiding participants from the basics all the way to building complete dashboards. They learned how to:

Understand what Power BI is and why it matters
Connect to data sources like Excel and SQL databases
Clean and prepare data using Power Query Editor
Build dashboards and charts (bar, line, maps, and cards)
Use DAX formulas for calculations
Share reports with their teams on Power BI Service

It was incredible to see how quickly participants moved from beginners to building their own interactive reports.

Hands-On and Interactive Sessions

To keep things exciting, our moderators included:

practical exercises like importing, transforming, and visualizing data
live demos showing real use cases
a fun Quizizz quiz to test what everyone had learned and add a bit of friendly competition 🏆
discussions on best practices for clean and accurate data

The room was filled with energy as participants laughed, raced to answer questions, and celebrated each other’s wins while also asking questions, solving problems, and helping one another along the way.

From Confused to Confident

By the end of the session, participants had created their own interactive dashboards filled with charts, filters, and meaningful insights.

They walked away not only knowing how to use Power BI but also feeling confident about using data to make decisions in their daily work.
