How the Eisenhower Matrix Changed the Way We Work?

How We Use the Eisenhower Matrix to Stay Focused and Productive at Tarsoft Sdn Bhd

At Tarsoft, our team thrive on clarity, collaboration, and efficiency. Like many teams, we often found ourselves juggling multiple tasks.

Some are urgent, others are important, and some…neither. We as a team trying our best to complete the task that was given to us. To bring structure to the chaos, we adapted ourselves with the Eisenhower Matrix. It is one of the best things that helps us as a team transforming the way we work.

What is Eisenhower Matrix?

Popularized by former U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower, the matrix is a simple yet powerful tool for prioritizing tasks based on urgency and importance.

It’s divided into four quadrants:

How We Applied It at Tarsoft?

1. Gather for a meeting once a week for updating our task

Every week, we dedicate time for a team meeting focused solely on task prioritization and progress updates.

2. Lists all the goals and task that team members want to achieve

Every team member contributes to a shared task board or matrix. We list out the goals and tasks we aim to accomplish.

3. Label the tasks which is more impact to the company

Once all tasks are on the table, we then assess which ones carry the most weight in terms of business impact.

4. Identify which task is more urgent and important

We ask ourselves this questions:

  • Is this task urgent?
  • Is it important?

Challenges We Overcome:

Breaking the habit of treating everything as Urgent

Letting Go of Low-Impact Tasks to prevent burnout

Learning how to divide task effectively for more productive work
